**UPDATE**
Just wanted to update everyone with the winner of the CFC/Found Item T-Shirt contest, Congrats go to Todd R of Junkfed!
Here at the Cult Film Club we spend a lot of time thinking about the fun aspects film and paying attention to the little details, like fashion in the flicks we adore. Whether it’s the finer attire (like our favorite ascot-wearing villains) or an extreme lack of threads (like our favorite naked fight scenes.) Today all three of the CFC hosts thought it would be fun to join forces and celebrate our favorite piece of clothing, the various shirts (mostly T-Shirts) from the movies we love. Before we dive into our top five lists, we’d also like to take this opportunity to announce and give a warm welcome our first official sponsor, Found Item Clothing. Found Item specializes in designing and selling screen accurate recreations of iconic t-shirts from some pretty awesome movies. In honor of this partnership, Found Item has graciously offered to furnish a t-shirt to one lucky listener of the Cult Film Club, so keep reading past the below lists for a chance to win a pretty rad t-shirt.
This past week Pax, Jaime and Shawn sat down and brainstormed our individual top 5 favorite movie shirts. It was hard to narrow the lists down, but here’s what we came up with…
Paxton’s Top Five
#5 – The Lambda Lambda Lambda Sweaters from Revenge of the Nerds
You have to love these sweaters for the bitchin’ style alone, but how can you not fall for them like the hot Pi Delta Pi’s fell for the Nerds in this hilarious flick. Pax wouldn’t be caught dead selling pies at a college fundraiser without one…
#4 – Hobb’s NY Knights Jersey from The Natural
Not only is this fictitious ball club’s jersey pretty neat, but Hobb’s in particular is awesome because it also features that nifty lightning bolt patch (a reference to his “Wonderboy” bat that came from a tree that was struck by lightning!)
#3 – Randall’s Ranger Danger shirt from Clerks II
The Ranger Danger shirt worn by Randall in Clerks II is a nod to Kevin Smith’s proposed sci-fi flick called Ranger Danger and the Danger Rangers that has never seen the light of day. Makes me wonder if there is a script floating around for this…?
#2 – Loki’s Infinity Street Sign shirt from Dogma
Who knew it was only 36 miles to Infinity? Pax did, ’cause he has this shirt.
#1 – Stile’s Teen Wolf shirts from the Teen Wolf flicks
Stiles was portrayed by two actors over the course of the Teen Wolf flicks (Jerry Levine and Stuart Frakin). If you combined the fashion sense of Frakin with Levine’s awesome screen presence you’d have one hell of a perfect Stiles!
Pax’s honorable mention, all of the rest of Stile’s shirts from Teen Wolf
Shawn’s Top Five
#5 – The Stork Bros. I’m with Stupid shirts from One Crazy Summer
The loveable innocence and, well, stupidity of of the Stork Bros. is perfectly illustrated in their inability to correctly position themselves in their awesome I’m with Stupid shirts…
#4 – Big Fun shirt from Heathers
Big Fun scored a massive feel good hit with Teenage Suicide (Don’t Do It) in the movie Heathers. I have to make sure there’s no Drano in the house when wearing this rad shirt…
#3 – Billy’s Gumbo shirt from Big
Though it’s only featured in a short scene in Big, this Gumbo shirt (mashing up Rambo and Gumby) made a huge impression on me when I was a kid. It’s also sort of the grandfather of the pop culture mash-up t-shirt craze that’s so damn popular these days…
#2 – Cru’s Rad Racing shirts from Rad
How can you not root for the underdog, especially when they’re selling such awesome swag like these Rad Racing shirts!
#1 – Sean’s Stephen King Rules shirt from The Monster Squad
Shawn’s all time favorite movie shirt has to be the Stephen King Rules shirt from the Monster Squad. I mean not only is the character also named Shawn (well, Sean), but I had also just discovered King and was hip deep in reading Christine when I saw this movie!
Shawn’s honorable mention is the matching shirts from BMX Bandits!
Jaime’s Top Five
#5 – Napoleon’s Stallion shirt from Napoleon Dynamite
Napoleon is such a stallion, and he shows it with his choice in t-shirts. Specifically this one, that has stallions on it.
#4 – Donnie’s Skeleton shirt from Donnie Darko
I never thought skeleton shirts could be made more iconic than their appearance in Spinal Tap and the first Karate Kid flick. That was until Donnie Darko came along…
#3 – Dwayne’s Jesus was Wrong shirt from Little Miss Sunshine
He might be colorblind and unable to join the armed forces, but Dwayne and his fashion sense sure was the brightest thing in Little Miss Sunshine…
#2 – Cameron’s Caduceus shirt from Ferris Bueller
Cameron is a walking ball of hypochondriac sickness which is perfectly represented by his awesome army drab Caduceus threads…
#1 – Fredie’s Makin’ Bacon shirt from The Karate Kid
Blink and you’ll miss probably one of the dirtiest jokes in the Karate Kid. It’s too bad Freddie ditched Daniel after the ass-kicking on the beach because I would have loved to have seen what other insane t-shirts this guy had in his collection!
Jaime’s honorable mention is the six million other shirts Napoleon wears in Napoleon Dynamite!

Well I was a tad bit disappointed to not see Rad Racing available on the website BUT this Top Gun design is a good 2nd best:

So, while wearing it are you pretending to be Iceman or Maverick? I’ve got dibs on Goose. Wait, I guess that means I better not eject… 😉
Iceman I suppose, don’t want to get too involved in the Scientology stuff Mavs gets into later in life 😉
Good call on the shirt and being Iceman. Personally, I’d pretend I’m Viper. Tom Skerritt for the win, my friends.
That is hardcore!
http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/army-of-darkness-trapped-in-time-shirt.php I thought this one was pretty cool. And my email is gabrielbrawley@yahoo.com. I’m still loving the sight and the podcast.
Thanks Gabriel!
That’s one of my favorite posters. Good call.
Too bad they didn’t have the BMX Bandits shirts (that movie is a HUGE cult classic here in Quebec), but I’ll settle for the white Flash Gordon t-shirt, which I’ll always associate with Freddie Mercury. And let’s not forget the famous quote from the movie: “Flash, I love you! But we only have fourteen hours to save the Earth!”. 🙂 Flash!…. AH-HAAAAA!

Nice choice! Love the Queen music in this flick and I always appreciate a dude who has his own name on his shirt 😉 Maybe we’ll have to petition Found Item to make the BMX Bandits shirts…
Nice one. While I don’t love that flick, I do love that shirt.
Looking at it again, you are right, the BMX Bandits shirts need to exist. In all three colors. We also need the Rad Racing shirts. Pronto.
Easy choice for me, I’d want to be an All-Valley Champ… Was looking for that Rad Racing shirt, that needs to be added to their site immediately!

Jason@rediscoverthe80s.com
Agreed, on both counts!
YES. Great call. I’ve wanted that yellow All-Valley shirt for a while now. I’ve seen it elsewhere on the net and it’s AWESOME.
Living in MA, I have to go with the Amity Island shirt: http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/jaws-amity-island-welcomes-you-shirt.php
It’s not a cult movie, but I had Eddie Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop Mumford Phys Ed Dept shirt in middle school 🙂
Rad! I think I need to finally break down and buy the Stephen King Rules shirt. Mr. Alucard moved in to the place next door and I think I might need to start writing some letters to the army guys… 😉
That IS a great, simple shirt. I like the shirts that are very simple and not IMMEDIATELY obvious what movie they are referencing. And I still haven’t seen Rad, but even I would like a Rad Racing shirt.
Shawn, if I bought the “T”, “K” and “O” shirts from Breakin’ would you and Jaime wear the “K” and “O”? I’d have to wear “T” for Turbo, though.
http://500daysasunder.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/screen-shot-2012-12-19-at-12-21-23-pm.png
YES! I would proudly sport the Ozone shirt!
Next Cult Film Club meetup!
I love that Amity Island shirt as well.
I’m not eligible, but as for the shirts found on that wonderful shirt site, I love this 8-bit Karate Kid shirt. LOVE it.
http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/8-bit-karate-kid-shirt.html
It’s also tough to pick my favorite Chris Knight Real Genius shirt, but I LOVE the Summer Games 1984 shirt.
http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/Summer-Games.html
Yeah, I think I’m bouncing back and fourth between the Surf Nicaragua and the Gorilla appreciation shirt…
That shirt IS pretty freakin’ sweet.
This one. This one made me laugh.

leafenegg@hotmail.com
Yup, and I love that they kept it in the sort of army drab and yellow of the shirts Cameron wore in the flick. Good call!
So many choices! While the “Stephen King Rules” from Monster Squad has always been a favorite of mine, my favorite has to be “Peace Through Superior Firepower” from the greatest sci-fi auctioner of all-time … Aliens.

jon@doubledumbassonyou.com
Great choice, and that’s always a mantra to live by 😉
Mine’s definitely the Amity Island shirt from Jaws!

hey@tophatsasquatch.com
I think we’re all gonna need a bigger closet!
My favorite is Cameron’s Caduceus shirt from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/caduceus.html
I also love his inside-out Airborne shirt from later in the film too…
Lots of good choices but, I’m gonna have to go with “Air Wolf”
http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/teen-wolf-air-wolf-shirt.php
ben[at]batfan.com
Nice one, Ben. More love for Teen Wolf.
I also want a Beaver’s sweatshirt like Matt Adler wore during the final game…
I got excited there for a minute thinking they had Airwolf shirt, then was twice as excited when I saw what you picked. Cool!
I gotta go with the International Order for Gorillas. So fresh! http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/gorillas.html
justin3k(at)gmail.com
I’m setting up the largest ball of Jiffy Pop int eh middle of Lexington right now… 😉
So many to choose from but Axel Foley’s shirt is awesome!
http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/mumford.html
Excellent choice! Make sure to wear a nice plush Beverly Hills Hotel robe over it too 😉
It’s gotta be the Sean’s “Stephen King Rules” tee from The Monster Squad (1987). I can only hope they’ll give me that easy monster-test so I can be in the goddamn club.

my_pet_robot@yahoo.com
[oh, also, i totally have to pick up the Death Before Disco sweatshirt from Stripes (1981). so cool.]
Quick, two ways to burn a vampire, sunlight annnnddd….?
Fat Kid’s… no, sorry, Horace’s pizza.
Alright, you’re in the Club 😉
Its an Estevez 3 Peat for me. Varsity jacket Andy in The Breakfast Club, Mickey Mouse T-shirt Two-Bit in The Outsiders and Sleeveless Varsity jacket Mark with gumby T-shirt in That was Then…This is Now. Over the 2MB upload pic limit.
Good choices man! I need to go back and watch Repo Man and see if he has any cool T-Shirts in that…
I’d like to see a Camp Arawak shirt from ‘Sleepaway Camp’.
Good one! Very underrated Christopher Collett flick. Wearing that shirt always makes people think twice about your gender though… 😉
I will chose the white Flash Gordon t-shirt because i’m a huge Queen fan! And i’m still looking for a ‘stache! http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/flash-gordon-shirt.php email : destcyr@gmail.com
Ha, I wonder if there are any pictures of Freddie Mercury wearinf that shirt floating around on the web?
Well that answers that question! Epic!
Rock on!!!!
As a part time hypochondriac, Cameron’s caduceus shirt has always appealed to me.
Well, we’ll have to get you entered into the contest then! 🙂
Congrats Todd, you’re totally the winner of the contest!!!
Total must have!! http://www.founditemclothing.com/t-shirts/robocop-omni-consumer-security-shirt.php
Rad! Did you know that Detroit is unveiling their new Robocop statue in the city tomorrow? http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/index.ssf/2014/05/detroits_10-foot-tall_bronze_r.html
I had no clue! That is bad ass!!!
Yup, I just got a chance to see the Rocky statue in Philly. Need to make it out to see the bronze Alex Murphy now :p
Just wanted to update everyone with the winner of the CFC/Found Item T-Shirt contest, Congrats go to Todd R of Junkfed!
Thanks guys! Here’s my best Cameron Calling Ed Rooney impression.
Awesome! Make sure Rooney is waiting outside when we get to the school to pick up Sloane… 😉
Little Miss Sunshine is garbage.
We took a note of your dislike of the flick. We’re probably definetly not buying you the Blu-Ray for your birthday. Probably.
