Taking a closer look at the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles flick there’s a bunch of stuff that we didn’t bring up on the most recent CFC episode, so here’s a list of the 30 things we LOVE about that movie! What are some of your favorite things? Let us know in the comments…
When I was younger I remember being really shocked that they said “damn” so often. It wasn’t until I got older I realized that the more concerning thing is how Casey just casually murders a guy (assuming the fall didn’t kill him) with a garbage truck. Obviously we all know he comes back in the sequel, but taken at face value Casey’s response to crushing a man to death in a kids movie was “Oops.” Casey Jones is hardcore.
Lol, totally. Again, I don’t think this movie gets enough credit for being very close to the comics in terms of the dark tone and how “adult” it is. Again though, it’s one of the reasons that I love Casey in this movie so much because he balances the darker violent tendencies of a true vigilante (going to the places that Raph’s rage and anger are leading him) with a the decent kindness of a guy who generally thinks he’s doing the right thing (evidenced by his definition of “Family” and his willingness to help out regardless of the danger it puts him in.)
Also, after hearing Spike yell “Shit” and Ultra Magnus scream “God damnit” in the ’86 Transformers the movie all the Damns in TMNT were lost on me 😉
Casey is the man! (Just don’t suggest he’s interested in other men) I feel like he doesn’t get enough mainstream love. A few years ago I dressed up as Casey Jones and my wife was April (yellow jumpsuit and all) for Halloween. We went downtown and made it our goal to get pictures with every Ninja Turtle we saw. Half of them had no idea who Casey Jones was and didn’t want me in their pictures, but one bouncer grabbed me as I was walking into a bar and pulled me back. He already checked my ID so I didn’t know why he wasn’t letting me in. Turns out he just wanted to show me his Casey Jones tattoo on his arm.
I’ve always been a fan of movie/comic Casey Jones. The cartoon one is just a little too “serial killer” for me. He’s probably the most one dimensional character in a show full of one-dimensional characters. Comic Casey’s got some really great story lines in the Mirage series. They develop his character quite a bit.
Have you seen the Casey Jones fan film? It’s pretty violent which is great, and Robbie Rist reprises his role as Mikey!

I don’t remember him enough from the cartoon (I’m in serious need of rewatching that), but I agree, he’s rad in the movie and in the comics. As for the fan film, I totally loved that and I wish that guy could get the funding he needs to make a full flick!
This is literally all you need to know about him from the cartoon.

lol
This is how I feel in my corporate environment sometimes.
I’m guessing you’re Casey in that day dream?
Did you really just ask me that?
Hey, maybe in your dreams you’re Raph, but wearing Casey’s mask. I’m not sure how deep this slash fiction goes 😉
That’s it. I’m sending you a Casey Jones mask to make this a reality. If I don’t hear reports of a “mad woman wearing a hockey mask and terrorizing a corporate office with a baseball bat” in the next few days I’ll be sorely disappointed in you, Jaime.
I whole-heartedly endorse this.
Have seen the mouth on these Turtles? Not sure if it`s blocked in your country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdawSUY4jhE
Lol, I actually did see this recently. Insanity! 😉
