30 Things We Love About…RAD!

Whether it’s taking peg rides on the back of your brothers BMX bike, amazing Thriller-inspired jumpsuits, or breathtaking bicycle boogie dance sequences, there is a ton of stuff to love about the movie Rad.  Here’s a list of the 30 Things We LOVE About it…

#31 Tall vertical graphics are totally rad!!

      Agreed! ;)

This one still amazes me it hasn’t ever been put out on a blu-ray/DVD combo.

I’m hoping it gets a release soon. I heard the cast recorded a commentary track sometime during the last year or two…

      • AlBundyTheBucsFan

They have. I really think right now it’s a rights issue.

        • http://www.brandedinthe80s.com/ Shawn Robare

Well, we eventually saw a releases for the Monster Squad, The Legend of Bille Jean, and even TV shows we were told would never happen (like the ’66 Batman and Wonder Years with all the music) so I have hope we’ll see one for Rad too.

          • AlBundyTheBucsFan

I really hope so as well.

With #17 being an exception, why does Lori Loughlin dress like one of the Golden Girls in this movie??

    • http://www.brandedinthe80s.com/ Shawn Robare

Lol, that is a good point. My real guess is that those clothes looked manish enough that the stunt riders could double her without looking too off. My silly answer is that Cru was was into “the matronly look”. Hulk Hogan, pshaw, Estelle Getty Eat Your Heart Out!!!

#32 – Pink elephant sprinkler. Honestly, how did that not make the list?

    • http://www.brandedinthe80s.com/ Shawn Robare

I could have so easily done 50 things. Had to restrain myself!

  • Pete

    Helltrack only has 19 riders.

    • http://www.brandedinthe80s.com/ Shawn Robare

Yup, 15 real and 4 fictional. Was that in contention?

      • Pete

        but they advertise 20 riders.

        • http://www.brandedinthe80s.com/ Shawn Robare

          Ha, cripes, good call!

        • http://www.brandedinthe80s.com/ Shawn Robare

Oh shit, there were 20! Remember, one of the riders (from team Hutch I believe) broke his leg and there’s a scene where Cru is getting ready to queue up for the initial Helltrack drop and he stops, says hi and signs the cast. Mystery Solved!!!

        • http://www.brandedinthe80s.com/ Shawn Robare

Man, total brain fart, can’t believe I didn’t remember this right off the bat…

          • Paxton Holley

You’re slacking, Robare. Get it together, man!

          • http://www.brandedinthe80s.com/ Shawn Robare

I know! Alright, take the mattresses of the ramp, gotta practice my airwalks…
